SAMUEL WAYNE NEVIN passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 17, 2005. Sam will be lovingly remembered by his mother Maxine Nevin; wife Inez; son Wayne (Jacqueline), Amanda, Tyler, Desmond and Liam; daughter Jackie (Barry), Sarah, Shane, Lisa, Jacey and Shannon; stepdaughter Natalie (Wayne), Cheyenne; stepson Jimmy; sister Emily; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father William Nevin on March 3, 1987. Sam was born on April 15, 1944, in Moosomin, SK. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Kelso, SK. Sam later went up north on Sysmec Drilling rigs for many years, but the love of farming and machinery brought him home to the farm. God looked around His garden And saw en empty space. He then looked down upon this earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest; God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew you might never get well Upon this earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered, Peace be thine. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you never went alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Rest in Peace, Dad. Forever in our hearts, we love you. Funeral services were held from Bethel United Church, Moosomin, on Monday, March 21 with Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Moosomin, SK.
